Katie's farm

So I thought my favorite part about this blog was going to be sharing all the pictures of our beautiful baby girl.  Well, last night, she showed me that I can have fun without pictures too.... She told us all about her future life.  Here goes:

Katie & her husband (named Aaron) will have twin girls, named Katie & Katrina (I find this to be an upgrade from a week ago when they were going to both be Katie & she would tell the difference by counting them).  She will live on a farm where her job will be to take care of the farm, by feeding the horses.  The horses will be in a different fence than the cows.  For crops, she will grow corn, soybeans, fruit trees & flowers.  Aaron can come pick some flowers, but he is NOT allowed to fish in the pond.  He is allowed to fish in the aquarium, but not with Katie. Our Katie will only fish with her husband, but Aaron can fish with his grandkids. I am allowed to come over and feed the birds.

When Katie goes on vacation, we will be allowed to take care of the farm, but Aaron needs to remember that he is not allowed to fish in the pond.  The fish in the pond would be scared if he fishes there and will hide if he tries to catch them.  There will be a sign that says "no fishing allowed".

Katie will allow Aaron to hunt on her property, but only after the trees she plants are big enough for him to sit "on".  Until then, they will be in cages (which she learned at school, despite the fact that Aaron shows her all about the trees he plants).  Her farm will be giant with a pink barn.  There will be no other houses around, but we will be able to walk or drive to it.  She will live in New Jersey "the same state" we live in.

Her barn and her dog (named ducky) will both be pink.  Her job will be in Chinatown (near Aaron's) and she will make money by helping people get clean water.  Her husband's job will be cleaning the house.

Most of this was answers to open-ended questions after she started mentioning "my husband" So funny!

Our trip to Idaho

Last week, we took a cross country trip to Idaho to see Aaron's grandma, "Nana Mae". 

We had a blast.  Katie couldn't have been more of an angel.  On the plane ride there, she was great & when we landed, before we got off the plane, she was asking "can we take another plane ride?"

Of course Nana Mae is in the spoiling business, and she's great at it.  Katie showed up to a basket of toys & loads of attention.... We were afraid she wouldn't want to come home... Good thing we had that plane ride back as bribery!

We spent most of the week playing games & filling her backyard with laughter,which are exactly the best things to do when visiting family.

But Katie was not so in love with my photo taking obsession, so we asked her to give us her grumpiest face...

Which of course led to the most beautiful smiles...

We didn't do a lot of planned activities, but we did go for a scenic drive one day & found a nice little park, where Katie loved feeding the ducks.

Then we went back the next day to go fishing.

There was some reading

And some good old mud.

And she did manage to get around to actually fishing.

And I was still in love with the picturesque backgrounds!

We also took a little walk around an environmental learning center

All along the path, there were storybook pages to look at.

Now you're catching on... more picturesque backgrounds.  If you're wondering about the glasses, it was the only way Katie was interested in taking a picture.

Aside from the trips, there were popsicles to be had

and books to be read

And naps to be taken

and blueberries to be picked

flowers to be watered

And of course - everyone needs some Boise State style!

To finish it all off, we had Nana Mae's famous apple pie for breakfast! (Did I tell you she was good at the spoiling business?  That is ice cream... for breakfast!)
